Lewis Capaldi Zoomed with Ryan Seacrest and the radio fam on-air on Thursday, April 16, and it was everything we needed and more. The “Someone You Loved” singer joked about being in quarantine with his family, dished on recording his second album and teased his upcoming #iHeartFirstResponders performance.
“I am just elated to be talking to someone who isn’t my mother or my father or my brother,” Lewis hilariously shared with Seacrest. “I’m with my family who I love very much, Ryan, but let me tell you we are about to come to blows. … I just realized I don’t like them as much as I thought.”
The funnyman’s mother, Carol, is actually a nurse and has been on the frontlines helping aid during Coronavirus.
“She’s a nurse and yes she’s at work at the minute helping to be on the frontline,” Lewis shared. “She usually deals with people who come in to get surgery on their hand or face but those surgeries aren’t happening but she’s in good spirits.”
Lewis, who is joining Seacrest this Friday to perform during iHeartRadio’s First Responder Fridays with FirstNet, Built with AT&T, has been using this down time to work on his highly-anticipated second album.
“It’s flowing, Ryan, but diarrhea also flows,” he jokingly shared. “It doesn’t mean it’s any good. It doesn’t mean you want it, but it’s been going pretty well so far but I’m just getting started.”
Lewis added he doesn’t want the current climate to take over the album’s mood.
“It’s easy to get lost in it and enjoy it when there’s all this madness," he added. "… But when everything goes back to normal, I’ve realized I’ve written 12 songs about the same four walls.”
